Whitetail Deer Hunting

Whitetail Outfitters hunts in a remote area known as game Hunting Area 21 in the Province of Manitoba. This area comprises 1500 square miles of which a vast majority is wilderness. Whitetail Outfitters does not hunt farmers' fields, road allowances or cut lines but rather we strictly hunt active deer signs such as scrapes and rubs. We hunt from custom-made portable tree stands which are set up by your guides prior to your arrival. While you are hunting, the area is being scouted for new deer signs by your guide, which will be discussed when you return to camp at night. We emphasize that this is your hunt and we will do our utmost to ensure that your wishes are fulfilled.

The guides transport you by ATV to within several hundred yards of your tree stand depending upon terrain. They will then walk you to your tree stand. You will be arriving at your tree stand before daylight and leaving after dark. You will discuss what time with your guide how early you wish to arrive and leave the tree stand. The guides are there to assist you and consequently you have input into your hunt, so that you will maximize your hunting experience with us.

At the end of the day, if you wish, the guide will come into your tree stand to walk you back out to the trail. We are hunting in extremely remote areas, and consequently you have to be very cautious not to become disorientated, therefore a compass is a necessity. The trail to your tree stand will be clearly marked by colored tape, and on the following days we would prefer you to walk in and out of your tree stand on your own, to minimize disturbing the area. However, if you would prefer, the guide will be more than happy to walk you to and from your tree stand each day. Whitetail Outfitters is very "scent conscious" and our operation is always conducted with that in mind.

During your stay at Whitetail Outfitters, in all likelihood you will have an opportunity to take a quality buck scoring 130 to 150 Boone & Crockett points. There are larger animals in the area, and as you can see by the pictures, quality animals are abundant. Deer harvested by clients of Whitetail Outfitters are traditionally large animals with the average field dressed weight being 200 to 250 lbs.
